Through four different experiments, European researchers demonstrated that productivity increases with happiness. In one experiment, simply showing a comedy movie clip to subjects prior to a standardized math test improved their performance. In another experiment, by giving subjects a small treat, short-term productivity was raised by 15-20%.
Numerous studies have proven that happier people live longer.
In 2001, the American Psychological Association (APA) published a study showing the link between the life expectancy of Catholic nuns & the positivity they initially expressed when entering the convent in their early 20's. The nuns with the happiest mindsets lived a shocking 7-10 years longer!
Another study, published in Health Psychology, followed 7,000 people in California for 28 years, finding that well-being & positivity are significant predictions of a longer life span.
