"There is a problem with our social fabric when the majority of people find it easier to say 'hi' to an animal rather than a person." As someone that hated having my voice heard at all, I often struggled in social settings. This became extremely problematic when I found myself combating anxiety and depression. I didn't tell anyone, not even my parents, and fought it alone. 5 years later, I'm here, living the life I had always dreamed. I don't want anyone to ever go what I went through. I want people to understand there is meaning in what they do. I want others to find who they want to be. I want an understanding that one thing will never define your whole life. This is why I joined TeenzTalk.
I am currently a junior at my school, South Pasadena High, where I've found my passion in leadership. As president of Future Business Leaders of America, Challenge Success, and Teenztalk clubs, I've gotten to know a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and strive to help them achieve their best. Often I feel like academics become the focus of too many people's lives and I believe that clubs or CTE programs are the best way for people to find their passions. |
