Akwaaba!, my name is Kojo Adjei Darkwa, I am 17 years old and I am a Ghanaian. I am in my first level of the Advanced Level at Ghana International School. When I'm not studying, I probably have earphones in with music playing; this tends to calm me down and makes me get into my moment and think about things. I am someone who thinks a lot, and at times, I put myself in the shoes of the mentally ill people I see on the streets; this often makes me upset, as these people are left abandoned and disregarded. As you drive through the streets of Ghana you would find people with mental illnesses, or as many refer to them as 'mad', walking along the streets either naked or half-clothed. The fact that these people are left to just wander around and look for their food and shelter, propels me to take action and help them because they are human just like us with their own imperfections. This serves as an incentive for me to be part of this team to not only create awareness of mental illness but also take actions to help people facing them.
Being part of the TeenzTalk team, I believe that as we put our minds together we can do better for our society and inspire others to follow in our footsteps and care for all people. Looking forward to working with the team!
